Patriot Preformed Detection Loops

More About Us

Patriot Preformed Detection Loops

Whether installation requires a cut-in, pave-over direct hot asphalt overlay or tied to reinforcing material prior to pouring concrete, Patriot Preformed Detection Inductive loops (P-IDLs) are time-tested to last for 15 years without failure. Patriot Detection not only guarantees the best product on the market, but also completes the customer experience with superior customer service.

Each order for Patriot Detection (P-IDLs) is custom-made and assembled in our factory for total customer satisfaction. Custom assembly not only avoids costly mistakes, but places total quality control over materials and assembly methods in the hands of Patriot Detection staff and management. Wire used in preformed loops is machine-turned and protected by high pressure/temperature flexible conduit which is injected with a self healing water-blocking material.

Patriot Detection Preformed Inductive Loops are guaranteed to reduce or totally eliminate:

  • Numerous lane closures due to re-cutting conventional loops
  • Deterioration of the pavement due to re-cutting the pavement
  • Red light violations due to drive aggravation with “timed” intersection lights
  • Excessive exhaust pollution due to unnecessarily long red light waiting periods
  • Motorist call-ins
  • Timed traffic lights that require expensive equipment due to conventional loop failure

Patriot Detection P-IDLs offer the customer a significant cost savings. For both new construction and existing loop cut-in, Patriot Detection Preformed Inductive Loops are a more cost-effective and superior alternative to standard electrical wire.

Patriot Detection Loops rated for direct hot asphalt pave-over and concrete overlay will compensate for reinforcing steel draw. Preformed Loops manufactured for cut-in installations do not require “45-ing” the corners, or the use of a backer rod. Compared to other traffic detection technologies, Patriot Detection Preformed Inductive loops are in-ground and non-intrusive.

There are 4 different ways to install the Patriot Loops.

Overlay

This is where the installer anchors the loop to the subsurface and in then overlaid with Asphalt.

Concrete Installation

The loop is tied to the Reo bar with cable ties and then the concrete is poured around and over the Loop.

Cut in

This is where asphalt exists and a cut in the asphalt is made and the loop placed in the slot.

Temporary

The Loop is laid on the surface of an existing road and taped down N.B. The entire loop has to be covered with the Tape. An added method is to use flame to melt the tape snugly over the Loop. This will prevent the Traffic flowing over the Loop from moving it.
